Yarraville Seddon Eagles Football Club is a club formed by the merger of
Yarraville Football Club, Seddon Football Club and Yarraville Juniors.
Yarraville was formerly known as Kingsville which was a member of the
Footscray District Football League, now the Western Region Football League.
Kingsville moved from its home ground in Roberts Street to Yarraville Oval
in 1990 and changed its name to Yarraville in 1996. Seddon, also a long time
member of the same League, was based at Yarraville Gardens. Yarraville
Juniors, originally known as Yarraville Boys Club, has always been based at
Yarraville.
Previous Yarraville teams to play at Yarraville Oval were in the Victorian
Junior Football Association (1903 to 1927) and the Victorian Football
Association (1928 to 1983).
Yarraville Juniors have always been known as Eagles, as is Yarraville
Cricket Club. The name has been at Yarraville since the 1940s when many
players were in the Air Force.
